This is an easy ride starting in Silver Spring md traversing the entire capitol Crescent trail down to the tidal basin to see the Cherry trees in their initial bloom. Expect about 25 miles total and bring some money for lunch. Bike locks and shoes you can also walk in aren't a bad idea, if you want to walk around the basin rather than ride. The first 3 miles are crushed stone - but very bikeable even on narrow tires.

We'll be at the basin in DC at about 12:30 and hack around there for about an hour - vendors on site can sell lunch - so bring a few dollars, and your camera.
We'll return back north up the trail to the starting point back up the trail at or before 3 PM. Road bikes are fine - but for this ride mountain bikes are also a good bet. Total distance will be 25 - 30 miles at an easy pace.
